Not AFAIK.  But when grub2 is default (hopefuly for lenny) it could be
enabled even in default installs, I guess.

Doesn't sound like upgrading to grub2 was the worst part, then ;)

GRUB 2 is quite usable now.  There are a few minor bugs here and there,
but overall it works.
