Bug#457491: grub2: FTBFS continues, more in e-mail

hi,

I'm trying to backport grub2 to Etch. My installed GCC version is 4.1.1
(Etch's), nothing fancy (I also checked `cc --version' and it spat out:

I get this error on build:

the patch was applied as normal, but seems this hack is't helping
anything for Etch GCC at all. I've read the BTS messages, and it would
seem that that something else is in order.

I imagine I could remove or edit that patch, despite it being built with GCC
4.1.x.
