grub2 is not going to replace grub anytime soon. So, the fact that this is fixed for grub2 should lead to closing the bug in grub. Using grub's menu.lst as the configuration file for update-grub is a horrid broken hack. I think this should be fixed _in grub_, not in grub2. -- Besos, Marga
