Hello,

i have the same problem on ThinkPad T43.

First i was thinking this is problem with hard disk (i lost power),
but after running grub1 from pendrive, and manually
booting from harddisk everything works. I fsck everything
(including /boot ext3 partition),
and after reboot problem reapeared. update-grub doesn't help.

I end with

unaligned pointer 0xe274
or
unaligned pointer 0x700ba

I was testing multiple kernel

Debian: vmlinuz-2.6.30-1-686

Own:
vmlinuz-2.6.31-rc6-sredniczarny-00043-g894ef82
vmlinuz-2.6.31-rc6-sredniczarny-xenpvops-00822-g2b8a8d4-dirty
vmlinuz-2.6.31-rc7-sredniczarny-00012-g3edf2fb
vmlinuz-2.6.31-rc7-sredniczarny-00135-g1e23502

with the same result.
