Ok now I went even a bit further and made a first implementation for 1.x
metadata:
 http://bzr.savannah.gnu.org/r/grub/people/fzielcke/raid

The name stored inside the superblock gets used as GRUB device. There's
currently no duplicate check.
Either use `mdadm -Q --detail /dev/md0' to get it or grub-emu.
`grub-probe -t drive' still generates the GRUB device name from the
Linux device. So don't rely on that one.
Except of these it should work fine.
