If you choose a device in the debconf prompt it does it already.
Run `sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc' to set/change it.

-- debconf information:
> * grub-pc/install_devices: /dev/hda

Currently it uses /dev/hda but seems like that isn't anymore the right
one for you or at least wasn't when grub-pc got the last time upgraded.
