Bug#577930: grub-pc: When gfxpayload=keep is set, console gets invisible as soon as xorg is started

Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98-1
Severity: normal
Tags: squeeze

When I add a gfxpayload=keep, to keep the settings I've set for the boot menu
(GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x800) my console gets unusable as soon as I start xorg. When
I start xorg, some colored line-pattern fills the console screen hiding
everything. Retruning to a vga=791 kernel line fixes the issue. Sjoerd
