Bug#572386: grub: Does not show any text in the list, only logo

Hi,

removing the lines does not change anything.

I am assuming that although grub.cfg is automatically generated, it is 
enough to modify it by hand, without running anything else (and that 
grub somehow reads grub.cfg from my reiser partition).
