Bug#597125: grub-pc: Grub takes forever to load after I aligned partitions to 4KB sectors

Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100804-4
Severity: normal

I installed grub-pc on a new machine and it worked perfectly fine. But after I
recreated partitions to align them to 4KB sector (I have the new WD Caviar
Green drive) it just takes forever to boot. Every operation seems to take
longer - the loading grub message, then teh menu to display and then to load
the kernel. Once the kernel starts loading the speed gets back to normal. I am
confident that the partitions are aligned correctly (I did run tests in
different configurations).
