Nice, thanks. I was in the middle of finding the correct patch. :-)

My current draft mail was "It seems g2hdr.bin is/was/has become a symlink to 
g2hdr.img, which is still installed as /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/g2hdr.bin . I'm 
fine with the renaming, although a little documentation would have been nice 
(impossible to find anything in the changelog.gz)."

(And I was in the middle of the rebuild to revive g2ldr.mbr)

Problem almost fixed then, nice !
