The point 1. (bad encoding for at least the French translation
for the whole GRUB screen) is now fixed. It seems that it has
been fixed by the upload to testing of the following packages:
grub-common         1.98+20100804-11
grub-pc             1.98+20100804-11

And the point 1. was really the more important.


But the point 2. is not fixed yet:
In /boot/grub/grub.cfg there is this line
  echo    'Chargement du disque mémoire initial ...'
but at the system boot it is displayed as
  "Chargement du disque m??moire initial ..."
=> the accented character is replace by "??".
