No, it isn't.  It's just gdb trapping a signal that liboil handles.
Before using the 'r' command to run the program in gdb, use the command:

  handle SIGILL nostop noprint

(Yes, I'm rather annoyed that gdb doesn't do this automatically.)

(And actually, it is a liboil bug, but not a critical one, and one
that was fixed a billion years ago.)
