is giosrc available in Debian?

Yes, it's in experimental currently:
http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gst-plugins-base0.10/news/20080311T050203Z.html

The last release we have in unstable doesn't have gio yet, it was added
with 0.10.17.1. Will be in unstable once 0.10.18 is released...

But it won't be used automatically yet (and still is not perfect), you
have to force it. By default gnomevfs will still be used for HTTP (and
for http you should better use souphttpsrc from gst-plugins-bad anyway,
try to force that in gnash).
