I am sure your package functions but I have few comments:

You are having 
 debian/*
 config.guess
 config.sub
in tarball.

First makes this as Debian native tarball: not recommended.  I think
providing debian/ in tarball is bad idea.

Last 2 happens a lot but if you are upstream you may reconsider.  Please
make sure to read /usr/share/doc/autotools-dev/README.Debian.gz before
proceeding

I do not see diff.gz in your build:

 http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/ch-update.en.html#s-orig-tar

I think you can read this new version (which I updated recently and give
me feed back).
