Hi Osamu
The reason of HIME packaging is some of user (debian/ubuntu) in
Taiwan prefer to use gcin instead of ibus.
gcin is still active, popular in Taiwan and release very quickly, but
the orignial debian package maintainer kanru orphaned it
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=630484).
what HIME provide now is based on gcin and merged a lot of patches
which upstream does not accept but HIME develop team thinks those are
useful.
