Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
This package was released for wheezy only as a stop gap for people to
migrate to im-config with the minimal problem.
As announced in README.Debian, let's remove this from wheezy+1=jessie.
Here is the situation:
osamu at ries:~$ dak rm -Rn im-switch
Working... done.
Will remove the following packages from unstable:
im-switch | 1.23 | source, all
Maintainer: Osamu Aoki <osamu at debian.org>
------------------- Reason -------------------
wheezy was released with im-switch with its README.Debian stating:
im-switch for Debian
=========================================================================
! im-switch is deprecated for Wheezy. !
! Please migrate to im-config !
=========================================================================
If you were using im-switch without much complicated configuration,
simply removing im-switch and installing im-config is sufficient.
If there are many users on your system, please inform them in advance to
run the im-config command to set a new configuration after the transition.
This package is kept in this shape only for preventing system upgrade from
Squeeze system with dist-upgrade to install im-config automatically. You
are given extra time to inform users including yourself.
This package will be droped completely for Wheezy+1.
----------------------------------------------
Checking reverse dependencies...
# Broken Depends:
kinput2: kinput2-common
Dependency problem found.
--------------------
The kinput2-common problem is due to the non-action of maintainer to my
bug report in 2011: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=651524
I just made NMU to fix it. So this is non-issue.
