Hm, didn't know about /usr/share/alien/patches

One thing alien still can't do though is a kind of 'tracker' package,
that can follow and alert about outdated java packages (not that
currently java-package does so, but it could do so, and I plan to
introduce that).

Also, I fear that alien won't be easily found if people are looking for
'java packages', and it'd be too specific for alien I guess if it would
include desciptions about java etc, and virtual packages, etc etc.

So, I think, while I agree that if it were possible, it'd be neat, it is
not really possible. Otoh, maybe java-package could actually depend on
and use some of alien's functionality w.r.t. the building of packages.

Reopening to later investigate this possibility, although it won't have
my priority at this moment. Of course, a more thorough investigation of
the possibilities w.r.t. is always appreciated.

Thanks,
