The latest update on building Lucene with kaffe is that all of the
code compiles, and all but one unit test passes. As mentioned
previously, it is the unit test for org.apache.analysis.ru.RussianStem.
I patched the Ant build file in our package to not perform an explicit
fail after the unit tests and also ran the generate-test-reports target.
The reports generated by the junitreport task provide a bit more
insight into the failure of the one unit test. The test expects a
7-character String in Cyrillic, and the first five characters match. On
the sixth character, the result returned by the tested method errors and
generates what appears to be thousands of characters outside my current
locale of iso-8859-1. I have temporarily uploaded the test reports as a
tarball in case anyone else cares to look at the results and see if they
spot any other clues[0].
