Thanks for the bug report. I've tried running tomcat 5.0.30-beta on Kaffe's CVS
head, and it comes up fine, and the examples work for me on port 8080. 

I assume that Debian's tomcat 5 package may be configured in some problematic
way that causes such an infinite loop that the original package doesn't, if the
problem occurs after installing the admin/webapps packages.
