Everyone had some problems (not just freezing), I recommended them to use sun jdk instead of gcj and all problems have gone. So it seams to be global problem (may be on Debian, may be in combining gcj with eclipse, may be in combining gcj, eclipse and python). Please, put it into FAQ or somewhere simillar to help others.Thank you

Hmmm, This can happen with GCJ when the native jars are not installed
properly or not used. Die you really used /usr/bin/eclipse to start
eclipse? This sets some special options for the Java runtimes,
especially helpful for GCJ.
