Dear Debian Java packagers,

1. Myself and my friend would like to be added to the pkg-java group,
since we'd like to chip in with what we know of Debian packaging
and Java to try to help out, when we can. Our alioth names are
kumanna-guest and varun-guest. Please consider our request.

2. Both of us have actually embarked upon trying to package JFTP for
Debian. We've found that all but two dependencies are already in
Debian. We have packaged one of them, which is libj2ssh-java, a
Java based library providing an SSH2 API. It is available at:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libj2ssh-java/libj2ssh-java_0.2.9-1.dsc

Please review the package when you can. Should you find problems,
please get back to us, and we'll do the necessary fixing up.

Another dependency, yanfs (Yet Another NFS) is almost done (we need to
fine tune the description, copyright etc.). We'll be submitting an ITP
shortly. Both these go into main, so JFTP should also make it into
main. :-)

Thanks!

Kumar
