Hi,

I have tried to create a Debian package from the Sun Java 6 Update 10 JDK
and I received a lot (over a hundred) of errors like these:

dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: couldn't find library libodbc.so needed by
/tmp/make-jpkg.trccDgeIEC/install/usr/lib/j2sdk1.6-sun/jre/lib/i3
86/libJdbcOdbc.so (its RPATH is '/usr/lib/j2sdk1.6-sun/jre/lib/i386′).
Note: libraries are not searched in other binary packages that do not have
any shlibs or symbols file.
To help dpkg-shlibdeps find private libraries, you might need to set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: Can't extract name and version from library name
`libjvm.so'
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: Can't extract name and version from library name
`libjvm.so'
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: Can't extract name and version from library name
`libjava.so'
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: Can't extract name and version from library name
`libjava.so'

Is this something I should be worried about? I mean, can I still install the
deb package?
I haven't tried because the target machine is a critical server.

Thank you,
Csabi
