Well, ALT Linux Eclipse (3.5 too) allows me to install *and* successfully
use the same plugins without installing eclipse-jdt subpackage.  When I
try to install pydev on the clean profile, it shows only "CVS Client",
"Help System", "Platform", "RCP" and "Equinox p2 Provisioning". In the
case of Debian Eclipse much more items are shown.
