I don't think so. I added a README.source and a point to the changelog:

Do you think the new sourceball also needs to be added to pristine-tar? It's 
generated from the git repo anyways. Have a look at

git diff --name-only upstream/1.11-8 upstream/1.11-8+dfsg1
