Hello Gianfranco,

Thank you for forwarding this information about the new versions of
tomcat.  So you're aware, we're not planning on continuing support for
tomcat6 in jessie, so we don't intend to upload that to unstable.

tomcat7, however, is a suitable candidate.  Typically, it's considered
polite to file a wishlist bug against the package for a new upstream
version.  This allows others who don't subscribe to the list to see the
bug (or file blocking bugs against it, etc.).

In order to help with packaging, you will need to join the Java
Packaging team.  The thread of instructions starts here:
