Package: java-package
Version: 0.53
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

java-package does not support newer Oracle Java releases for ARM that support VFP/hard-float, such as:

Detected Debian build architecture: armhf
Detected Debian GNU type: arm-linux-gnueabihf
No matching packaging method was found for jdk-7u40-linux-arm-vfp-hflt.tar.gz.

(Finally having a hard-float JDK is very important on hard-float systems. Previously, all JNI modules had to be built against soft-float compatibility libraries.)

I previously created a patch against 0.50+nmu2 to add this support: https://gist.github.com/trevorr/4773837

There have been substantial changes since then, but I will attempt to rework the patch and submit it.

Thanks,
Trevor Robinson
