Two issues still persist:

1. A dependency on org.python:jython, that either should be optional, or 
that must be a debian dependency, too.

It appears to work (for ELKI) without Jython - but this dependency does 
exist in mavencentral, so it may be necessary to add a dependency onto 
jython for some parts to work; at the minimum to add a suggests/recommends?

2. A dependency on org.apache.xmlgraphics:batik-svgrasterizer that does 
not exist in the Debian package.

Rasterization appears to work; so I can only assume the contents of 
svg-rasterizer are currently included in the batik-rasterizer package.
