Thanks, I added it already to the SVN repository.

This file has been changed recently in SVN.  Please, check:

http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-jed/trunk/packages/jed/debian/README.Debian?op=file

and tell us if this version is okay.

The problem is that jed_0.99.18 is not compatible with the jed-extra
package currently in testing and unstable.  We are heading towards a
coordinated upload of both jed and jed-extra to unstable.  Progress has
been slow, though, for several reasons.  If you wish to collaborate,
please join the pkg-jed group at alioth.d.o.
