[Pkg-kde-extras] kvpnc in Ubuntu

Hi all!
I would like to know how is it possible to make sure, that new version of some package (stable version) will be included in the next release of Ubuntu. Namely - there is a new version of kvpnc on its homepage (fixing some bugs interesting for me), but the next version of Ubuntu (jaunty) has still the older one. Can I help somehow to make this done? I was pointed to this mailing list from launchpad, where debian-kde-extras team is marked as maintainer of this package. If this is wrong list, please someone point me to the real maintainer. Thanks.
