Package: k3b
Version: 2.0.2-6
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

by default, K3B uses "wodim" to write DVD (iso) images.

Unfortunately,it looks like wodim is buggy and fails when trying
to burn dual layer DVDs (at least when using it from k3b; I have
not tried to do it from CLI).

When the image to write is larger than single layer capacity,
writing starts and goes on until it have to switch layer, then
fails with an error (producing a coaster).

Using growisofs (with same hardware and image) works just fine.

Same problem as the one reported here:

 https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1094796

Until cdrecord/wodim gets fixed, I guess that K3B should change
its defaults to always use growisofs instead.

Being unable to burn an image and producing expensive dual-layer
coasters is quite annoying...
