It is not an RC bug and the changes required could be huge, so I think the 
answer is no :-(

You can do that too: write a suitable patch and propose it upstream. Maybe 
some option to allow the user to enable/disable this bug. Of course, that 
without making the bug mentioned in [0] reappear.
