The reason is that the Debian's libvirt maintainers are busy keeping the
open source drivers (kvm, xen, lxc, openvz, VirtualBox) in shape and
nobody stepped up to provide support for the interface to the
proprietary ESX hypervisor. As soon as somebody is willing to test new
versions and fix bugs that show up in the ESX driver on a continuous
basis we're happy to enable the driver.
