Yes, I'm running the 486 flavor. On non-PAE capable systems (like my
early Pentium M or virtual box guest - because performance suffers in
PAE mode) one is forced to use the 486 flavor beyond squeeze.
Before, I had the problem with cpu topology which was fixed by Ben
Hutchings (see initial bug report). After fixing this, I'm running in
the problem described in THIS bug report.
