Same problem here. Apache source for the proxy connection is
httpd-2.2.3-31.el5.centos.2
worked fine in 1.4.19-5
in 1.4.19.5+lenny1, apache reports:
Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /https/10.187.2.51/.
Reason: Error reading from remote server
[Mon Feb 15 09:12:52 2010] [error] [client 1.1.1.1] proxy: error
reading status line from remote server 2.2.2.2
downgrading to 1.4.19-5 restores operation.
