* DO NOT UPLOAD
* Work in progress, because of #655969
* to-do:
* provide an assisted transition from /etc/lirc/hardware.conf to
  /etc/default/lirc
* remove /etc/lirc/hardware.conf, if unchanged
* warn, if automated loading of kernel modules was configured in
  hardware.conf, this is no longer possible and needs to be done through
  /etc/modules or udev (in case of autoloadable modules).
* rework (unconfigured) defaults for /etc/lirc/lirc{,m}d.conf, these are not
  suited to be conffiles and debconf can't suggest anything sensible upon
  upgrades.
* Debian.news entry, explaining the changes both upstream (in-kernel RC_CORE)
  and regarding packaging and configuration.
* audit existing configuration.
* the format of /etc/default/lirc is not 100% stable yet, but hopefully
  close.
* fix log_daemon_msg usage, to provide nicer initscript messages.
* move lirc configuration from /etc/lirc/hardware.conf to the new
  /etc/default/lirc, this defers module loading to the local administrator
  and no longer allows loading kernel modules from the initscript
  (Closes: #655969).
