Hello:<br><br>I'd like to propose a packaging change that we have adopted in Ubuntu. We have had several people who were unable to use LIRC with their devices when upgrading to 8.10 because of input hotplug grabbing exclusive access for the device. We got around the problem by adding a HAL fdi file to prevent X from grabbing control of these devices.<br>
