Bug#718000: llvm-dev: LLVM gold plugin has failed to create LTO module: Invalid bitcode signature

Hello again,

I just upgraded the clang and llvm packages to version 3.3-5.
With that version, the first error coming up is

/usr/bin/ld: error: /usr/bin/../lib/LLVMgold.so: could not load plugin  
library: /usr/bin/../lib/LLVMgold.so: cannot open shared object file: No  
such file or directory

After symlinking LLVMgold.so to /usr/lib (didn't have to do this in 3.3-3 if  
I remember correctly), compiling with clang and -O4 brings up another error  
message I haven't encountered so far:

ld: /var/tmp/llvm-3.3.src/lib/Support/Path.cpp:43: llvm::sys::LLVMFileType  
llvm::sys::IdentifyFileType(const char*, unsigned int): Assertion `length  
>=4 && "Invalid magic number length"' failed. clang: error: unable to execute command: Aborted
clang: error: linker command failed due to signal (use -v to see invocation)
