no, ldm is the way.
with 5.0.17 the new ldm was introduced, including unencrypted X
forwarding while still hadnling passwords encrypted. there is no need at
all for using XDMCP anymore and pushing user passwords unencrypted
through the net. I'd really like to see us officially (read with
announcement) dropping this big security hole called XDMCP upstream.
