Hello,

In your setup, you've mentioned iscsi-root. But are you using multipath
on top of it?
If yes, why are you not using the multipath guaranteed /dev/mapper/*
entries?

If your intent is to use multipath for other devices but not the root
lun, you can blacklist the root lun in multipath.conf
