This is most likey caused by a misconfigured TeX. All current TeX 
distributions should embed all fonts used in the document into the pdf, 
even the standard postscript fonts. Anything else is a bug in your TeX 
distribution or the result of a broken installation. In any case, this 
behaviour has nothing to do with LyX.
