Yes right.
The fact is that when mediawiki1.5 went out, as the upgrade was a bit tricky 
and mostly undocumented, we decided it could not be done automatically only 
and that it was safer to have the opportunity to be able to update 1.4 wikis 
to 1.5 without breaking current wikis in exploitation, hence the separate 
package.

Now, I must admit that recent upgrade after 1.5 went much more smoothier, and 
the having versioned packages for each release is a real pain when it comes 
to correcting, closing and reporting bugs..

My current plan is to finish packaging mediawiki1.10, ask for removal of 
mediawiki1.9 and mediawiki1.7, and think about merging this again in a single 
unversionized package.
