I had no problems backporting/compiling Mesa 9.1.6. I grabbed Mesa 9.2 packaging from the Experimental package. Everything compiles fine for 64-bit Wheezy after backporting all the build-deps, but then it gets down to the linker part and I get this error: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz A quick google search suggests that I might need to add a build-depends on a zlib1g-dev package? Tips/Suggestions/Help is greatly appreciated. I really need newer graphics drivers for Steam and I don't want to run testing/unstable just yet. -David From sidicas2 at gmail.com Sat Aug 24 13:30:39 2013 From: sidicas2 at gmail.com (David Smith) Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2013 21:30:39 +0800 Subject: Mesa 9.2 compile: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz In-Reply-To: <5218AF48.8000903@gmail.com> References: <5218AF48.8000903@gmail.com> Message-ID: <5218B57F.1080405@gmail.com> On 08/24/2013 09:04 PM, David Smith wrote: > > A quick google search suggests that I might need to add a build-depends > on a zlib1g-dev package? > Just a follow up, I added a build-depends on zlib1g-dev and now it backports.
