I don't know what kind of extension this is, but I guess it is
platform independent code only? In this case it should be quite simple
to package it.

Anyway, the layout of such an extension package is described well on
mike's page. I would suggest that you take a simple firefox extension
as a blueprint. Mike mentioned a few in his article.

questions on debian-mentors at lists.debian.org.
