I don't think this is a good thing, for several reasons:
- There are good chances that icedove 2 and icedove 3 can't share a
profile (i.e. running icedove 2 after icedove 3 may either not work
properly, or worse, do bad things)
- It doesn't allow for a smooth upgrade
- We are 3 months from freeze, it's really time to get icedove 3 in, and
test upgrade paths, because we'll definitely *not* be releasing with
icedove 2: we can't support it for more years.

Iceape uses recommends for the gnome libraries, instead of dependencies.
