I tried to install pyjamas-desktop pacjage, which depends on python-xpcom:

There was a bug report http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=576108
It's marrked as fixed, but it seems it is not fixed since I have similar symptoms.
