I can't find a package familiar to "ape 2" so maybe you must explain a
little bit more what you are doing or searching. But I don't see clear
reason to use Squeeze while there is Wheezy and Jessie as old-stable and
stable release.

And yes, Moritz is a member of the release team, he has the power to
decide the removing of packages from a repository. But he isn't deciding
something like that alone.

Squeeze isn't supported officially any longer as it's now old-old-stable
so you are on your own if you using Squeeze.
