GTK+3 support has been available upstream for some time (since 38?). 
It's considered stable and was only disabled by default in case it 
caused upgrade difficulties for users who didn't have GTK+3 installed 
yet. These difficulties shouldn't exist for Debian, and there are 
tangible benefits in GTK+3 such as support for hidpi (and Wayland?). So 
please could the GTK+3 support be enabled now instead of waiting for 45.
