Every other version of mozilla products I've ever used it was
possible to change the icon that appears on the application and
taskbar by replacing the ones you didn't care for with other files
of the same name. Depending on the app and OS the extension might
be .ico, .xpm, .png, and the name might be something like
default16.*, main-window16.*, messengerWindow.*, but always the
location was in PROGRAM/chrome/icons/default.

For some reason this does not work with the mozilla.debian.net
versions of iceweasel. I also tried changing the default16.png,
etc. icons in other locations to no effect, e.g.
$ locate default16.png default32.png default48.png
/usr/share/iceweasel/chrome/icons/default/default16.png
/usr/share/iceweasel/chrome/icons/default/default32.png
/usr/share/iceweasel/chrome/icons/default/default48.png
/usr/share/xulrunner-1.9.1/chrome/icons/default/default16.png
/usr/share/xulrunner-1.9.1/chrome/icons/default/default32.png
/usr/share/xulrunner-1.9.1/chrome/icons/default/default48.png
/usr/share/xulrunner-16.0/chrome/icons/default/default16.png
/usr/share/xulrunner-16.0/chrome/icons/default/default32.png
/usr/share/xulrunner-16.0/chrome/icons/default/default48.png

I really hate the default Debian ice* system icons, and have ones
of my own that I much prefer, it irks me that I can't figure this
out. Linux is all about choice. What am I overlooking?
