This sentence does not make any sense to me.

With that file, I observe an endless loop in avprobe from libav 0.8 and
libav master (git revision 01b0ade). Just out of curiousity, I also
tried FFmpeg master (git revision f645132) and could observe this
symptom with ffprobe as well.

Please file the bug upstream. You might find these guidelines helpful
(48 MB is really too large for a sample):
