Bug#416571: Focus problem?

I've noticed flakiness with the keybindings in VLC; in my case, it
appears that it's due to issues with input focus for the controls.  If
I explicitly click on the seek bar with the mouse to focus it (which
also seeks the video), the keys start working.  My wild guess would be
that focus is being transferred to the video display widget somehow
and that that widget is not propagating the keyboard accelerator
events where they need to go.
